The Six-Day War ended with Israel capturing the Sinai Peninsula, the Golan Heights, the Gaza Strip, and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Of these, only the Sinai Peninsula was returned, per the Israel-Egypt Camp David Accords peace treaty, while the Golan Heights and East Jerusalem were formally annexed by Israel.
So right there from the military objectives, the worst case scenario in regards to Israel losing the six day war is the death of pretty much every Jewish man, woman, and child in the country. I have a hard time to accept that, jewish communities have existed and still exist in these countries. Israel was forged in, and defined by, war. Each armed conflict, large and small, left its mark. But it is the shortest, the Six Day War of June 1967, that seems to resonate more than all the others.
